... any longer!!
The North Yorkshire meet and Saturday evening saw 5 of us sitting down in a cosy, typical old country pub. Roaring coal fire and good company. There were 2 Old Peculiar's (Jak & Jean - sorry ladies!), a fish pie and 2 sausages with mash and onion gravy and really delicious they all were as well. Waitress came to clear plates when we finished and asked me and Chris (Jak's hubby) if we enjoyed the sausages. Well, these sausages were the best I'd ever eaten so, "yes" we reply. "That was Theodore" says the waitress!! Turns out that these sausages - on specials board as 'rare breed sausages with mash & onion gravy' came from a rare breed pig called Theodore that this waitress had helped rear. I'm soooooo glad she kept that bit of info to herself until we'd finished eating Theodore. Would really rather not have had that info at all - lol!! So, the story is that Chris and I ate Theodore and reckon it'll take a while to live down as far as the Old Peculiar's (it's a steak pie apparently) and the Fish Pie are concerned - lol!!!
Part for lappy did arrive but it still wasn't back when I got home from my weekend at the North Yorkshire meet. Hoping that it would be back yesterday but seems that this part is difficult to fit and is a job that "I don't like doing" according to techie! Don't really care if he doesn't like doing it - I WANT MY LAPPY BACK! I've now got 2 full memory cards and another started and I wanted to update blog with all the things I'm gradually forgetting, piccies of Zac while he's still small and the weekend just past.
Thanks for dropping by .....

PS: Following on from info received from Dimples in the comments - it was an Old Peculiar Steak & Ale pie so guess the Old Peculiar was an ingredient of the pie gravy. Thanks Linda!

Oh poor Theodore!!!!! When I was a kid my Dad kept a couple of pigs and when he had fattened them up he used to get the butcher to come and kill them then they would be cut up and hung up in the kitchen come living room for months on end we cleaned and plaited the chidlings. What a difference now with all the date stamps on things.
Glad you enjoyed Theodore though Pam.
